Solo Display – The529 BIZ-MIX, Shoreditch (London), May 2026

Exhibiting at The529 BIZ-MIX in Shoreditch was an inspiring opportunity to showcase The Gele Painter artwork within a vibrant community of entrepreneurs, creatives, and professionals.

Presenting my pieces in Shoreditch, an area renowned for its creativity and artistic vibe, added another dimension to the experience. Visitors demonstrated such interest in the art on display, sparking conversations about identity, heritage, fashion, and African inspiration.

The529 BIZ-MIX successfully proved that mixing business and pleasure can create an apt environment for community, creativity and camaraderie.

Solo Display – Black Inclusion Week, HSBC Canary Wharf (London), May 2026

The Black Inclusion Week 2026 closing event took place at HSBC Canary Wharf in May 2026. It was inspiring, uplifting and a charge to go forward and champion Black people in every sphere and walk of life.

The Gele Painter exhibited during this extraordinary BIW event in the HSBC building. It was truly a magical experience – thank you to all those who came to admire the artwork on display and to those who made further enquiries. The support and responses have been warm, truly heartfelt and a joy to receive with grace.

Black Inclusion Week is the brainchild of the exceptional Aggie Yemurai Mutuma, of Mahogany Inclusion Partners. It is a national movement that shines a light on the achievements, voices, and experiences of Black people in the UK. Through inspiring events, bold conversations, and real action, BIW drives awareness, advocacy, and structural inclusion. Whether you’re an individual, a business, or a community leader – you have a role to play.

Sign up for Black Inclusion Week 2027!

I am truly grateful to Aggie for this opportunity.

Group Exhibition – Carrousel du Louvre (Paris), October 2024

Kat Adaobi exhibited in Paris in October 2024 (in absentia). In 2020, she re-discovered her passion for painting under the guidance of Patricia Evangelista at Sfumato Art Studio, London. One of a group of exhibitors from the Sfumato cohort, Kat showcased her work at the Carrousel du Louvre, Paris.

This portrait below, entitled Bold II, is a self portrait that speaks of Kat’s faith, inner boldness and courage. In this oil painting, her facial features morph into the face of a lion. The painting conveys a quiet confidence and is painted in subdued cool hues that call to mind the power of calmness and collectedness as a sign of triumph.
